The City of Cambridge located roughly 100km West of Toronto in Ontario Canada, was concerned about crime and the spread of drug use in downtown area. There was no fiber available at the desired camera locations that were near parking lots and other remote locations. The new system would have to be future proof – able to add new applications. 5GHz was considered, but was not deemed reliable or future proof. After careful consideration the city determined the right Gigabit capable solution would be Siklu’s mmWaves technology.
